In pre-school education and the 1st year of the 1st cycle of basic education, the normal enrollment period for the 2025/2026 school year is set between April 22 and May 31, 2025.

Enrolments received by May 31 will be considered immediately for the purposes of ranking, with all others subject to ranking at a later date.

It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to formalize the enrolment.

The request for registration must be made:

On the internet: portaldasmatriculas.edu.gov.pt, electronic enrollment for pre-school and 1st grade, using authentication via citizen’s card, digital mobile key or access credentials to the Finance Portal;

In person: At the school where the School Group is based (Escola Secundária Manuel Teixeira Gomes), where support will be provided for electronic enrolment for pre-school and 1st grade, using citizen card authentication.

• Civil identification document number and type;
• Children’s/students’ tax identification number;
• Current photograph, in color, passport size, with plain background and covering only the face;
• National Health Service user number;
• Identification of the entity and the health subsystem number (if applicable);
• Social security identification number;
• Data on the composition of the household, validated by the Tax Authority (to validate the respective priority).

OTHER DOCUMENTS – To be delivered in person or sent by email (matriculas@aemtg.pt) with the identification of the child/student and file number. process number from the enrolment portal:

• Attestation of residence issued by the respective Parish Council and/or residence permit (foreigners);
• Document regulating parental authority, if any;
• Documents proving the measures provided for by the Decreto-Lei n.º 54/2018, of July 6 (only for new students at AEVP).

NOTE: Enrolments will only be accepted on presentation of all requested documentation.

By June 16, the lists of children and students who have applied for or been re-enrolled are drawn up and published in each educational establishment.

Children and students belonging to households in the 1st and 2nd income brackets, determined for the purposes of family allowance, are entitled to benefit from economic aid.

To this end, guardians must provide proof of their position in the family allowance brackets by submitting a document issued by the competent Social Security department or, in the case of a civil servant, by the processing department.
